Kitchen Renovations
Replacing builder-grade cabinets and worn laminate in the newer subdivisions, or opening up a closed 1970s kitchen in Timberlea.
Basement finishing and legal second units in Milton's newer subdivisions, kitchen and bathroom updates in Timberlea and Dorset Park, and careful work in the older homes of Old Milton.

Most of the houses in Dempsey, Clarke, Beaty, Coates, Ford, Cobban and Boyne were handed over with an unfinished basement, builder-grade cabinets and laminate that has since worn through at the kitchen and the front entry. Basement finishing is therefore the renovation we do most in Milton, and a good share of those are additional residential units with their own kitchen, bathroom, fire separation and egress window. Permits for that work go through Town of Milton Building Services, and we prepare the drawings and handle the inspections.
New construction brings its own conditions. Slabs in subdivisions built on graded fill over clay can still be giving off moisture years after the house closed, so we test the concrete before any flooring is chosen and build the basement around that reading. Steel beams, teleposts and the mechanical room have to be worked into the layout rather than boxed in badly.
In Timberlea, Dorset Park and Bronte Meadows the job is usually a first full update: a kitchen opened up, a bathroom retiled, stipple ceilings taken down. In Old Milton we work around plaster, older framing and tight lots where every sheet of material comes through the front door. For commercial clients we renovate storefronts along Main Street and units in the Derry Road plazas, with the loud work scheduled around your hours.

In many newer Milton homes, yes. An additional residential unit needs fire separation, a proper exit, enough ceiling height and a permit through Town of Milton Building Services. We check all of that at the site visit before quoting.
Many Milton subdivisions sit on compacted fill over clay, and the slab can stay damp for years. The reading decides whether we use vinyl plank, a raised subfloor system or something else, so it comes before the quote, not after.
Yes. Plaster walls, older wiring and narrow lots change how the job is staged, and we plan for that rather than treat a century home like a new build.
