Driveways & Driveway Borders
Full interlock driveways and the border strips that widen and finish the narrow driveways on Milton's newer streets.
Front walkways, driveway borders and backyard patios for Milton's narrow new-build lots, built on a base deep enough to stay flat on construction fill.

Interlock in Milton is mostly a front-yard job. Lots in Beaty, Coates, Willmott, Ford, Cobban and Boyne are narrow, the front yard is small and many driveways are shared, so a walkway from the sidewalk to the door and a border along the driveway edge do a lot for the look of the house without taking space you do not have. Backyards get patios, steps down from a raised deck and low retaining walls where the grade drops toward the fence.
The ground is what decides whether that work lasts. Milton's newer subdivisions were graded with compacted construction fill over clay, and fill keeps settling for years. A shallow base on that ground sinks and tilts within a couple of winters. We excavate deeper than most, build a compacted granular base in lifts, set the stones on screeded bedding and lock the joints with polymeric sand, then grade the surface so water runs to the street rather than toward the foundation or onto the neighbour's half of the driveway.
In Timberlea, Dorset Park and Old Milton we are more often lifting and relaying interlock that has heaved or sunk, and working around mature tree roots, which may need review before we dig. Lots on the escarpment side in Scott and Harrison slope more and need retaining walls and drainage planned together with the patio.

We drive up from Oakville, usually within the week, measure the space, check the ground or the substrate and answer questions on the spot.

You get an itemized quote covering scope, materials, schedule and cost, with any permit steps through Town of Milton Building Services spelled out.

The crew completes the job on the agreed schedule and walks the finished result with you before leaving the property.

The lots were graded with compacted fill over clay, and that fill keeps settling. A base that is too shallow sinks with it. We dig deeper and compact the base in layers so the stones sit on something that stays put.
Yes, that is the most common interlock job we do in Beaty, Coates, Boyne and the surrounding streets. A walkway and a driveway border fit easily and make the front of the house look finished.
We mark the property line, keep the grade from pushing water onto the neighbour's side and are happy to quote both halves together if you both want the work done.
They can. Mature trees in Old Milton and lots near the escarpment may need review before we excavate, so we check that at the site visit and tell you before the quote is final.
