Hardwood and Engineered Hardwood
Refinishing original strip oak in Tyandaga and Headon Forest, and new engineered floors in Millcroft and lakefront rebuilds.
Hardwood refinishing and new installation, laminate, vinyl plank and tile for Burlington homes and commercial units, with the subfloor checked before any material goes down.

Flooring in Burlington is as much about what is already there as what goes on top. The 1970s and 80s houses in Headon Forest, Tyandaga and Brant Hills often have original hardwood under the carpet that can be sanded and refinished instead of replaced, and we check before quoting new material. The 1960s bungalows and side-splits in Palmer, Mountainside and Dynes usually have plank or plywood subfloors that have moved over sixty winters, so we level and screw them down before anything is laid.
Basements are the other big category. Across most of the city the ground is clay, which holds water against the foundation, so in Orchard, Alton Village and Millcroft basements we take a moisture reading on the slab before recommending vinyl plank or a subfloor system. In the sandier soil closer to the lake, the concern is usually the age of the slab rather than damp. Lake humidity also matters above grade: solid hardwood near the water in Roseland or Aldershot needs proper acclimatization time, and we build it into the schedule.
We also install commercial flooring: durable vinyl and tile for retail units near Fairview and Mapleview and for offices along Harvester Road, scheduled outside business hours where needed.

Usually. The 1970s and 80s houses in Headon Forest, Tyandaga and Brant Hills often have sound strip oak under the carpet. We lift a corner during the site visit and tell you whether sanding and refinishing makes more sense than replacement.
Vinyl plank over a moisture-tolerant underlay is the usual answer. We take a slab moisture reading first, and if it is high we deal with the cause before laying anything.
It can. For homes in Roseland, Shoreacres and Aldershot we let solid hardwood acclimatize on site before installation and leave the correct expansion gaps.
Yes. We book the elevator, follow the building's working hours and use the underlay the condo board requires for sound.
